A FULL ORBIT OF COMBAT

Fly left or right around a cylindrical arena and change altitude to create firing lanes, evade attacks, and keep enemies in view. Fire forward or backward to answer threats from either side.

Keep the orbit moving

The battlefield wraps around a cylinder. Flying in one direction brings you around the arena rather than toward a conventional side-scrolling level exit. Your altitude creates a second axis for dodging and lining up attacks.

Fire in either horizontal direction to answer a threat on your tail. Moving and firing do different jobs: keep making space while choosing which side needs your attention.

Alternating camera perspectives

Waves alternate between outside and inside camera perspectives within each biome, with the next biome starting outside again. The inside view gives an overhead perspective on the arena. The battlefield still wraps in both views: use the minimap and reassess your firing lanes when the camera changes.

Take an escape route

Look for the moving arrow gates near the top of the arena. Fly upward through a ready gate to enter a fast escape route that carries you halfway around the orbit. Steer up and down through the wall openings before returning to the main fight. Gates have a 30-second reuse cooldown; escape routes are unavailable during boss fights and co-op, and some world abilities can block entry.

Escape routes: risk and reward

The shortcut can help you relocate away from pressure, but it is an obstacle course, not a safe passage. Five walls stand in your path, and hitting them can damage your ship. Entry ends your current boost and clears temporary invulnerability, so line up with each opening rather than relying on protection.

The first escape-route run offers a shield pickup beyond the last wall. Later runs may offer a shield, rapid fire, an extra life, or no reward. Weigh the chance of a useful pickup and a new position against the risk of losing shields or a life on the walls.

Read the whole fight

Use the minimap to locate remaining threats. A target outside the camera view can still be somewhere around the orbit, so a quiet patch of screen does not always mean the wave is clear.

Guide values describe the standard full-game rules. Anomaly modifiers and difficulty settings can change the result. The demo contains a smaller selection of the full game.
